IN THE ZONE FILM

In The Zone is an inspirational look at possibility through education. Throughout its powerful narrative this documentary will raise poignant questions about race, privilege, diversity, and cycles of inequality across the Western world.  

At a time when we’ve never seemed more divided, this is a story about a man who, despite all the obstacles, is trying to bring people together. And it’s working.   

Terrance Wallace has already enabled over a hundred teens in New Zealand to create educational and personal success. We followed his NZ journey for three years, and then followed him to the USA as he set up his pioneering ‘In Zone’ programme in Chicago.   

As well as following Terrance and our teens’ incredible journey to create a compelling and engaging documentary, our intention is to raise our audience’s awareness of the cycles of inequality which are inherent in our societies. We want to inspire those who can help to do so, both on a broader political and social level, and also on a more personal level. Nobody is too small to make a difference.
